AutoMemoir ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the AutoMemoir iOS application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use AutoMemoir:

Voice recordings. When you start a conversation session, your microphone audio is streamed in real time to our servers for processing. We do not store raw audio files — only the transcribed text.
Life story content. The stories, memories, and personal information you share during conversations are stored as text to build your memoir.
Device identifier. A randomly generated device ID is stored locally on your device to associate your content with your account. This ID does not contain personally identifiable information.
Usage data. Basic session metadata (session start/end times, conversation length) to operate and improve the service.

We do not collect your name, email address, or payment information unless you voluntarily provide them.

2. How We Use Your Information

To generate your memoir articles and stories using AI.
To provide text-to-speech playback of your stories.
To store and retrieve your memoir content across sessions.
To improve the quality of AutoMemoir's AI responses.

3. Third-Party Services

AutoMemoir uses the following third-party services to operate:

Google Gemini AI — processes your conversation transcripts to generate memoir content. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Cloud Text-to-Speech — converts your memoir text to audio. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Supabase — stores your memoir data in a secure cloud database. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
Railway — hosts our backend server. Subject to Railway's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your data to any third party.

4. Data Retention

Your memoir content is stored for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of all your data at any time through the "Delete My Account & Data" option in the app's Me tab, or by contacting us at support@automemoir.ai.

When you delete your account, all stored data — including sessions, transcripts, extracts, and memoir articles — is permanently deleted within 30 days.

5. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right to access. You can request a copy of the data we hold about you.
Right to erasure. You can delete all your data at any time via the app or by contacting us.
Right to portability. You can request your data in a portable format.
Right to object. You can object to certain uses of your data.

6. Children's Privacy

AutoMemoir is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/WSS) and secure cloud infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of AutoMemoir after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
